The recent film
Burlesque, starring Christina Aguilera and Cher, was first released to theaters on November 24th, 2010. With the memorable tagline, “It takes a legend…to make a star”, the talented singing duo promise a master/apprentice relationship to fans of both pop stars. The film is a musical, allowing both to showing off their pipes, as well as their acting skills.

Burlesque
follows Ali, a small town girl with a big voice, played by Christina Aguilera. Following the classic story, she movesto a big city to find fame and fortune. What she finds is an exotic throwback nightclub by the name of
Burlesque, featuring hot music,dancers, and excitement. Cher plays the owner of the club, who is interested in making Ali the new star of her shows. The question of plot then becomes, will she make it to the top, or become a huge flop? Additional cast includes Eric Dance, Stanley Tucci, and Kristen Bell. The vocal talent, mixed with aesthetically dramatic and unforgettable musical sequences, promises a fast-paced musical experience.
The DVD version of
Burlesque
will be introduced to the public on March 1st, 2011. Released by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, this musical comes with the accessory of many extra features. The DVD comes with a full commentary track recorded by the film's director, Steve Antin. Additionally, there will be an alternate opening provided, as well as a special entitled, “The Burlesque Lounge: Alternate Full Musical Performances.” As the title suggests, this special portion of the DVD features never before seen musical productions to act as counterparts for every piece provided. To top it all off, there is a blooper reel, offering a behind the scenes look at the mistakes that come up during filming.
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has also released a blu-ray disc of Burlesque, featuring additional bonus material. The
blu-ray version
of the release includes a series of featurettes relating to the filming, production, and final results of the film.
