The
Apple iPad
is a magical and revolutionary, technologically advanced product offered at an affordable price.
An Apple iPad without any doubt, lets you enjoy the web, email, photos and video in an incredible manner. It comes with a large Multi-Touch screen and various built-in apps that work in any orientation.
Connect to the Internet with iPad via its in-built high speed Wi-Fi technology. Choose to have the optional 3G connectivity and you can be online even when there is no Wi-Fi! Your web experience is enhanced with Safari, the web browser on iPad. You can view webpages in portrait or landscape orientations by rotating the iPad. Navigating the web is also easy and intuitive as you just use your finger to scroll pages, enlarge/shrink and zoom in/out.
The
Apple iPad 16GB WiFi + 3G is my particular favourite.
It looks beautiful and is lovely to hold and use. I got used to the interface very quickly. However, as someone who spends a lot of time browsing the internet, I am surprised how I prefer to use the PC more than the
iPAD
for most of my browsing.
I think this is for a few reasons:
1. I haven't yet set up the email client so all my emails are to my PC and filed there
2. Apps for sites like eBay and Amazon are less funcional than the actual websites ( presumably as they were initially designed for small screens like the iPhone) so it can be very irritating to find oneself on an App view that does not have the functionality one has become used to on the web page - of course one can view the web page but it seems a bit of cop out doing this on an iPAD.
3. the Apple office tools are compatible with microsoft office but typing at length on the iPad keyboard is far from ideal so prefer to use my PC for document creation
4. Haven't really worked out how to create a file structure for personal docs on the iPAD.
5. Although I take digital photos, I am not fanatic that browses and catalogues them regularly so once uploaded I tend to print what I want and then probably not edit or look at them too much again but I can imagine it would be great for browsing photos
6. BBC iPlayer can only be used to stream programmes - not to download to watch later - e.g. on a plane which is a shame as I hoped to use it as a portable
PVR.
7. SIM card slot takes a different non-standard sim card so you can't borrow one out of your blackberry to use intermittently - you need a dedicated one. Also the SIM card slot is really fiddly so if you want to share a SIM card with an IPHone that takes a small SIM card, then agaian, it will be a fiddly process.
Apple have deliberately not included a camera or telephone capability - just adding that in as people always seem surprised when I tell them as they assume it is just a giant
iPhone.
